In an AppStore overrun with games, it is very difficult for a new title from an independent developer to catch the eye. One of the widely-practiced promo options is to make the app free for one or several days. However, we don't want to take that step before hearing back from our active player base.

I very much like the idea of it going free... But I think you should consider going to freeappaday.com. They have gotten two previously unknown apps to #1 free in less than a day already. My only concern is that Bedlam is not for everyone, most likely the game will be riddled with people logging on for the first time for a minute but not understanding it then deleting it and rating it badly. Which I'm sure you're aware of. It would also be nice to put Bedlam on some MUD websites out there. I'm not sure what or where they are, but I know there are some MUD sites that list every MUD they know of, if someone goes to one of those sites, they are surely looking for a MUD and not an iMob clone. I don't think I'm going to vote in this poll because I think my opinion is not expressed well enough in any of the options.

* freeappaday.com is really hot commodity right now and apparently has started charging developers for their apps to be listed on its calendar. Even so, they never bothered to respond to our question, meaning that they're probably booked for months ahead, by folks who are paying them.

* We are well-aware that Bedlam will turn the greater majority of people off and that the app rating will suffer as a result. This is exactly what happened with Bedlam LT.

* Bedlam is listed on the two major MUD indexing sites. A crossing of MUD players with iPhones is an ideal but limited target audience. Those folks are already finding Bedlam through our PPC campaign, the MUDMaster app, as well as those MUD sites. The goal of going free for a limited period is to attract people who may like the game if they can find if more easily in the AppStore. (Going free results in a spike in downloads, which bubbles the app up for a while.)

With the above in mind, we'd like to hear back from as many of our active players as possible before we make a decision.

I have noticed that you have some really great apps. But they probably aren't doing so well on the charts. Well I'm here to help you. I am launching a new website soon, and i would like for you to be a part of it.

This website revolves around promoting your application of your choice. Sure you can go to other sites, but they are really expensive. From my analysis, the price ranges from $100 to a whopping $1200 (and possibly even more)!

Well here I am. I am willing to promote any of your iPhone apps available in the store. If you have a specific date that you asked Apple to publish your date, and you want your app promoted on that day also, then I can do that also! I am willing to make almost any arrangement with you.

What day was it free on? If it was the July 7th something was wrong cuz I downloaded fewdays later got email saying i actually paid for the app becuase I only download free apps that I don't know. Good apps I still buy.I remeber it was free that day so I got it but 6.71$ has been taken off of my iTunes account. Any ideas why?

The app was free on 07/07. If you downloaded it during the 24-hr period, it should be free. If you were charged by the AppStore, please contact their support (devs have no control over purchases). We did see what looks like a few refunds on 07/08, so you may be eligible for a similar refund.

bedlam isnt loading for me. i managed to create the account with numerous crashes, and then, when i load my account, the screen is black.

Hi,

Please try to tap 'OTHER' on the main menu and enter your character name and password manually. If your password doesn't work, then someone else may have claimed the same character name. In that case, please tap 'OTHER' and create a new character. Things should go smooth now that the flood of people has subsided.

The reason for this is that if you never played for more than 5-10 minutes with your character, then someone else can claim the same name later.
